Machu Picchu High Season Ticket. For the high season in Machu Picchu, circuits 1-C (Intipunku Cover Route), 1-D (Inca Bridge Route), 3-C (Great Cave Route), and 3-D (Huchuypicchu Route) are open. These four new routes are available from June 19th to November 2nd. If you’re planning to visit any of these routes, it’s recommended to book in advance. During the high season, tickets sell out quickly, so it’s recommended to book in advance, otherwise you’ll have to wait in long lines to get your ticket.

Machu Picchu High Season

All circuits are available during the high season, but the circuit that sells out the fastest is Circuit 2, which gives you access to the entire Machu Picchu archaeological site. It’s recommended to book this circuit four months in advance.

Circuit 3-A (Huayna Picchu) also sells out quickly during this time; it’s recommended to book three months in advance.

Circuit 1-A (Machu Picchu Mountain) is also highly sought after for this date, and booking two months in advance is recommended.

New Routes in High Season

Four new routes are opening for these dates. Here are their details:

Route 1-C: Intipunku Gateway Route
Intipunku Gateway or Sun Gate, panoramic view of the citadel and its surroundings. The tour takes approximately 2 hours.

Route 1-D: Inca Bridge Route
You’ll be able to see the Inca bridge from ancient times, have a panoramic view of Machu Picchu, and also a view of the Vilcanota River. The tour will take approximately 1 hour.

Route 3-C: Great Cave Route
The route begins in the agricultural sector, where you can see the terraces built by the Incas and take classic photos very close to the urban area, including the Temple of the Sun, the House of the Inca, the ceremonial fountains, and the area of ​​the 3 portals. From there, the path will lead you to the Great Cave, and on the way back, you will visit the Temple of the Condor. The route is approximately 3 kilometers.

Route 3-D: Huchuypicchu Route
The route begins in the agricultural sector, where you can see the terraces built by the Incas and take classic photos very close to the urban area, including the Temple of the Sun, the House of the Inca, the ceremonial fountains, and the area of ​​the 3 portals. From there, the path will lead you to Huchuypicchu Mountain, where, after a light hike, you will reach the summit and enjoy excellent views of the citadel. On the way back, you will visit the Temple of the Condor. The route is approximately 1.7 kilometers.
