February 15th Carnival in Cusco 2026. This February 15th marks the start of the 2026 Cusco Carnival, where thousands of people gather in Cusco’s main square to play with water and foam and watch traditional dances. On this day, foreign tourists, Peruvians, and locals alike celebrate the carnival festivities, a very typical celebration in the city of Cusco.

You can also experience the carnival in different districts of Cusco with yunsadas (traditional tree-cutting ceremonies) and enjoy the typical dish of this festival: Puchero. In the Sacred Valley of the Incas and the southern valley of Cusco, there is a wide variety of yunsadas celebrations where friends and families gather.

And on February 5th, Compadres Day is celebrated, and on February 12th, Comadres Day, a beautiful traditional festival in Cusco.

If you are in Cusco and want to experience this, just go to the Plaza de Armas to see the traditional dances and the water balloon and foam fights. And if you didn’t arrive by these dates, February 22nd is the end of the carnivals, the last day of this traditional festival.
